Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 1, 2026
Kavoren Software ("we," "us," or "our") operates Agora Talk ("Agora," the "Platform," or the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Platform.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Username and display name
- Profile picture (if provided)
- Password (stored in encrypted form)
1.2 Content You Create
We collect the content you post on Agora, including messages in text-casts, topics, and any other content you submit to the Platform. This includes:
- Messages in main threads (public by default)
- Messages in follower chats
- Topic titles and descriptions
- Group names and descriptions
1.3 Payment Information
If you subscribe to a paid membership or upgrade to a premium group, we collect payment information through our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.
1.4 Device and Usage Information
We automatically collect:
- Device type and operating system
- Browser type
- IP address
- Usage patterns and interactions with the Platform
- Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform
- Process transactions and send related information
- Send push notifications about text-cast activity (when Hosts or Guests post messages)
- Respond to your comments, questions, and requests
- Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and abuse
- Personalize your experience, including the Discovery tab
- Send transactional emails related to your account, such as password resets and email verification. These are not marketing communications and are necessary for account security.
3. Public Nature of Content
3.1 Main Thread Visibility
Agora is designed for public conversation. By default, messages posted in the main thread of a text-cast are publicly visible to anyone, including non-registered users. Group owners may configure their groups to be Member-only, in which case main thread content is visible only to paid Members.
3.2 Archives and Search Engines
Topic archives are designed to be permanent and publicly accessible. Public archives may be indexed by search engines like Google, which means your messages could appear in search results. This is an intentional feature of the Platform to enable organic discovery of conversations.
3.3 Profiles
Your username, display name, and profile picture are publicly visible. Your participation in text-casts (as a Host, Guest, or Follower of public groups) may be visible to others.
4. Push Notifications
If you enable push notifications, we will send you alerts when Hosts or Guests post messages in text-casts you follow. Notifications are designed to feel like text messages. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the app.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to provide core functionality such as authentication and session management. We do not currently use cookies for advertising, analytics, or user tracking purposes.
If we introduce analytics or tracking in the future, we will update this policy and notify users accordingly.
6. Information Sharing
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With other users: Your public content and profile information are visible to other users as described above.
- With service providers: We share information with third-party vendors who assist us in operating the Platform, processing payments, sending notifications, and analyzing usage.
- For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Agora, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Messages and content in archived topics are retained indefinitely as part of the public archive.
If you delete your account, we will permanently remove your personal information including your email address, password, username, and bio. Your account record is anonymized rather than structurally deleted. Messages and reactions you posted will remain but will be attributed to "Deleted User" to preserve the integrity of conversations. Groups where you were the sole host will be archived. Follower and host records associated with your account will be removed. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access, update, or delete your account information
- Disable push notifications
- Request a copy of your data
- Delete your account
To exercise these rights, please contact us at the email address provided below. Note that due to the public nature of the Platform, we may not be able to delete messages that have been archived or indexed by search engines.
9. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
Agora is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using the Platform, you consent to such transfers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
